What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of First Assembly Marble Falls based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He is still healing and calling His people into full-time ministry.
Duet. 6:4; Isa 43:10-11; Matt 28:19
Isa 53:4, 5; Mat 8:16, 17; James 5:14-16
Mark 16:15-20; John 4:23-24; Eph 4:11-16

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Matt 1:23; Heb 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22; Acts 10:38

Mankind

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be.  This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
Gen 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Rom 5:12-19

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Rom 10:13-15; Eph 2:8; 4:24

Water Baptism and Communion

We believe the ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. They declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.
Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4

We believe the Lord's Supper is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, a memorial of his suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming, and all believers are commanded to participate in it until Jesus comes again
2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit can change and empower your life.
Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Cor 12:1-31; John 7:37-39; Acts 2:42, 43
You are empowered by the spirit when you receive a spirit language. Acts 2:4; 10-44-46; 19:6; 1 Cor 12:4-10, 28

The  Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We ought to live right, act right and become more like Jesus.
Mat 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Eph 3:10; John 4:23, 24; 1 Cor 12:28; 14:12
Rom 12:1, 2; 1 Thes 5:23; Heb 12:4; 13:12; 1 Pet 1:5,15-16

Ressurection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth. We will reign on Earth with Jesus.
Rom 8:23; 1 Cor 15:51-52; 1 Thes 4:13-18; Titus 2:13
Mat 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Rev 19:20; 21:7-8
Rev 19:11-14; Zech 14:5; Math 24:27-30; Rev 20:1-6; Rom11:26-27; Isa 11:6-9
