This reflection was shared by one of our women, and it stirred something deep in us.
Take a moment and ask yourself the same question
What will they say on my final day?
Oh, what will they say?
Will they say she fought the good fight and finished her race?
That she has seen her Jesus face to face?
Will they say it is well with my soul and I am finally home,
with my risen Savior who gives me eternal rest?
What will my children say on that final day?
Will they say they were always deeply loved by me?
That even when she was strong and tough,
it was because of the love she had for us?
Will they rise and call me blessed?
Say I was set apart from the rest?
What will they say?
Will the room be filled with lives I’ve touched—
people who felt love and care from my life lived here?
Did my life serve its purpose?
To reflect and share my Jesus?
What will they say on that final day?
And will it all be true?
What about you? What will they say?
What will they say on your final day?
Will they say you’ve seen your Savior?
That heaven is your home,
and that you’ve seen God on the throne?
And will it be true if they do say these things about you?
But as I ponder this,
it really doesn’t matter what people may say.
It only matters what Jesus will say:
“Well done, good and faithful servant,”
or
“Depart from me—I never knew you.”
What will He say? Oh, what will He say
on your final day?
